The Chamberlain Medical Collection
The University of Birmingham Medical School displays an extensive historical pathology collection which surrounds a busy study area. The collection also includes paintings and sculpture which reflect the history of the school, and late 19th / early 20th century anatomical models which are used for teaching the history of medicine. A recent donation of artefacts primarily related to the history of surgery complements the existing collection and provides a useful research tool for medical students studying in the Centre for the History of Medicine. The collection is open to the public by appointment.
